Just one of those blogs - by Januy | 09 Apr, 2012 |

No wait, actually, it's not. This is my Personal Blog (yes, it's worth the capital letters) and I can write what I bloody well want to! Freedom of Speech FTW! This will be a lot of text and I don't know if it's worth your time but whatever, I got dat writin' tickle goin' on.
Now, of course, I won't rant off in a political/racist/economic/religious dialogue because let's be honest, nobody cares. And you shouldn't because there are far more fun things to do, like playing your beloved game: TrackMania. I've had my blog entries, you might not know because they aren't here. Have you ever actually visited the TMX Blog? No? Well you should! A few days back I noticed that there has grown a whole different community that wasn't there when I started, missing out on a lot of great tracks and authors. That shit is all documented in the TMX Blog, so if you want to relive the old days you should take a look. OR, even better, you just visit TM Nations Exchange. http://blog.tm-exchange.com/ Now don't go way back to the TM Sunrise/Original era, that's practically ancient. All those users died, never left TMN-exchange or still wander around on TMUFX. A bit like Smeagol/Gollum I suppose, but they REALLY never show their face. Good fella's though (I suppose, I've never seen them). So yeah, that writing tickle. The TMX Blog was very fun and I actually thought about reviving the hell out of it, but then again, it cost me a lot of time back then and I'm not such a big part of the community any more. I don't know whose in and whose out, what genre is big etc. And I can't bother either. Because my PB (Personal Blog right, stay with me here) is my own little crib and I can do wha'eva I wanna do with it! The door of my crib is always open so you can run in anytime and share your thoughts 24/7. I'll be mocking around about the community, TMNF and TM2, and just some daily stuff. Like that big fat woman that stood on my toe with her damn high heel, when the bus went through a loooooong turn. I'll be leaving all that crap on here. I would rather have my stuff being on the frontpage of the local newspaper, but who the *firetruck* am I. I tend to write with a humoristic tone (or sarcastic, whatever settles to your taste) so I actually expect it to be fun to read. Now let's see if this gets any attention, I'm not going to spam this around as I did with my horrible tracks. Cheers. |

Haha I'll do my best, thanks Bert I think the hardest part is to come up with something interesting that is still TM-related (if I haven't experienced a blog-worthy event in TM, of course). | |

Hahahha, just love it! To bad about the rules, well it's logic of course, still I wanted to read about a fat lady standing on your toe.
I'll be coming back for more that's for sure! As long as you keep it enjoyable to read (and by enjoyable I mean the humoristic/sarcastic tone you put out), you can make anything funny imho. cheers |

Yes, and next to that it was hard to find new material. We had the Author Showcase which was fairly original, but other than that it was hard to keep stuff going.
With that comes time pressure. People do expect new content. I could go and do the same with my own blog, but now I can take my time. No need to have a showcase every Wednesday and a video review every Friday |

Nice post I really enjoyed to read the different entries on the TMX-Blog, when it was still active. But you are right, stuff like this consumes such a huge amount of time and if you aren't able to get a team going for it, the end is coming sooner or later.
The problem with such community blog's is, in my opinion to be able to gather a team and then to let this team do the work as it was intended by the creators of the blog. Another example for a blog which is nearly dead is the german TM blog tmaniacs. |
