Special thanks to Eyebo, who computed shadows for me! Let those pitch black bushes be banished forever!
Slice your way through the undergrowth. Let's see whose machine is meanest and greenest.
Sometimes I take breaks from Trackmania. I like myself some variety in my games, so it's inevitable that I leave even my favorites for a while sometimes. But, now that I'm getting dragged back in, I've found myself coaxed into making maps again. The itch never truly goes away, it seems, and man does it feel good to be making maps again.
This one was made for the
May 2024 MTC, which is the first TM2 MTC in a while. It's super cool seeing it making a comeback, especially after having hosted plenty of editions for both TM2 and TM2020 myself. It's nice being able to just build a map for the MTC and not have to worry about whether it's okay to make a map when you're also the host!
As for the map itself, I was fiddling with some envimixing in Lagoon to see if I could make the steep landscape somehow driveable. Then I climbed up the steep landscape in the Valley car, and it was all downhill from there. This map is a blitz through all sorts of experiments as I figured out what I could do using the blocks allowed. I think it plays surprisingly smoothly, though I'm also the guy who had to spend hours testing every obstacle. For the more finicky ones, I added some tips in the GPS to hopefully make them less frustrating to learn. Maybe don't worry too much about setting a fast time if you try this one.
